Keep a True Lent (Lenten class)
Sundays February 14th to March 13th at 2:00pm

UPHI invites you to participate in our Lenten class, “Keep a True Lent,” where you will abstain from negative thinking and meditate on Spiritual Truth to bring you into a state of higher good. This class will use Charles Fillmore’s book “Keep a True Lent” as a Lenten guide. FREE, but donations are appreciated. For more information, please click here.


UPHI Pays Tribute to C. Herbert Oliver

Rev. C. Herbert Oliver was at the forefront of the Civil Rights Movement in Birmingham, Alabama with Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and many other freedom fighters in the 1960s. He has been an activist in the Civil Rights Movement since 1948 and advocates for educational reform on behalf of minority students in New York City public schools. During this tribute, which takes place on Rev. Oliver’s 91st birthday, UPHI will present him with the “Keeper of The Flame Award” for his lifetime work of alleviating the hurts caused by racial injustice. Following this service is our monthly fellowship luncheon at 2:00pm.

The Uptown Community Wellness Initiative Meetup
Sunday, March 20th at 2:00pm
Location: 4140 Broadway in NYC (in the Palace Cafe)
This month's Meetup will be led by artist Elena Zelenina, who will be guiding participants through an introduction to her "Art Completes You" workshop, applying Vedic meditation to art-making. All levels of experience are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please bring paper and pencil to draw with -- colored pencils, if you have them -- and also extra paper or a journal.
